LASER’s Learning, Employability and Progression (LEAP) suite of qualifications offer a wide variety of personal development and vocational taster units. LEAP has been designed with flexibility in mind. The suite of qualifications provides centres with the autonomy and freedom to select units and combinations of units that suit learners’ particular needs. The qualifications are ideal for those who require a truly individualised curriculum.
There are seven sizes of qualification at each level (Entry 3 and Level 1). The qualifications are nested, so that units in a smaller qualification can count towards larger qualifications within the same suite. All units appear in all qualifications in the suite. The recommended number of guided learning hours is between 15 and 370 hours, depending on the qualification and units chosen. The rules of combination have been kept simple with no core units. This allows courses to be structured to fulfil individual learner needs, promote engagement and retention and boost learner confidence.

To achieve the LASER Entry Level Extended Award for Learning, Employability and Progression (Entry 3) the learner must achieve a minimum of 9 credits. The credits may be taken from any combination of units but a minimum of 5 credits must be at Entry 3.
Units with the same titles at different levels are barred against each other.
LASER Entry Level Introductory Certificate for Learning, Employability and Progression (Entry 3)
To achieve the LASER Entry Level Introductory Certificate for Learning, Employability and Progression (Entry 3) the learner must achieve a minimum of 13 credits. The credits may be taken from any combination of units but a minimum of 7 credits must be at Entry 3.
Units with the same titles at different levels are barred against each other.

LASER Entry Level Extended Certificate for Learning, Employability and Progression (Entry 3)
To achieve the LASER Entry Level Extended Certificate for Learning, Employability and Progression (Entry 3) the learner must achieve a minimum of 27 credits. The credits may be taken from any combination of units but a minimum of 14 credits must be at Entry 3.
Units with the same titles at different levels are barred against each other.
LASER Entry Level Diploma for Learning, Employability and Progression (Entry 3)
To achieve the LASER Entry Level Diploma for Learning, Employability and Progression (Entry 3) the learner must achieve a minimum of 37 credits. The credits may be taken from any combination of units but a minimum of 19 credits must be at Entry 3.

LASER Level 1 Introductory Award for Learning, Employability and Progression
To achieve the LASER Level 1 Introductory Award for Learning, Employability and Progression the learner must achieve a minimum of 3 credits. The credits may be taken from any combination of units but a minimum of 2 credits must be at Level 1.

To achieve the LASER Level 1 Diploma for Learning, Employability and Progression the learner must achieve a minimum of 37 credits. The credits may be taken from any combination of units but a minimum of 19 credits must be at Level 1. Units with the same titles at different levels are barred against each other.
There are no specific entry requirements. Providers are recommended to ensure learners are entered at an appropriate level and that the opportunities for spikey profiles are exploited.
