Overview
The LASER Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Working in Health and Social Care Professions qualification is designed to prepare learners for entry to a professional career within the health and social care sectors by providing them with the knowledge and skills to progress onto an appropriate programme of training and learning leading to a professional career. Achievement of the qualification will also support learners to enter employment within the sectors. The opportunity to progress onto an Access to Higher Education Diploma is also a potential outcome of achieving this qualification.

3 mandatory units: Preparing for a Career in Health and Social Care Professions; Understanding (a named) Profession or Understanding the Health and Social Care Professions; Communication in Health and Social Care

At least 8 credits from the vocationally specific unit group must be completed

Learners have the opportunity to take up to 9 credits from Employability and/or Learning Skills

Supports progression to Access to Higher Education Diploma courses such as: Nursing and Healthcare Professions; Biomedical Sciences; Medicine; Social Care Professions; Social Work
