The start of a new year brings a renewed sense of purpose and ambition with often a stronger focus on health and fitness. Our fitness units are included across our LEAP and Progression portfolios, making them ideal for a wide range of learners. With options available from Entry 3 through to Level 2 these units will support learners at every stage, from pre-16 students to adult learners and those returning to education.

From Health and Fitness to Planning and Participating in Short Walks, we offer a wide range of engaging entry level options. Our Level 1–2 units span everything from Planning Your Own Fitness Programme to Taking Part in Sport. Whether your learners want to improve their personal health and fitness or seek to raise their performance in a particular sporting activity, LASER has units to meet their goals.

What Learners Will Gain

Our fitness units provide Entry 3 learners with 3 Credits and 30 GLH. Within the Health and Fitness Entry 3 unit, learners will demonstrate fitness tests and activities (including a warm up and cool down), participate in a simple training programme and review their own performance.

For more advanced learners, our Level 1-2 units offer deeper knowledge and practical understanding. At Level 1, Understanding Nutrition, Performance and Healthy Eating explores the importance of diet, covering the basic principles of weight control and the relationship between exercise and weight. At Level 2, our Personal Physical Fitness Unit reviews learners own personal fitness with an emphasis of designing a personal training profile and the effectiveness of different forms of exercise.
