The festive season is here, a time when food takes centre stage and even the most novice cooks dust off their pans and don their aprons. This December, we are shining a spotlight on our cookery units, equipping learners with essential skills that last well beyond the Christmas table.

Our cooking units are suitable for your aspiring chefs and are available within our Progression and LEAP portfolios. Each unit is designed to build confidence, develop transferable skills, and support positive learner progression. We offer a wide range of options at Entry 1-3 and Level 1-2, ideal for vocational learners, pre 16 through to adults. These units are ideal to accredit work experience, work related learning and traineeships.

What Learners Will Gain

To give you a flavour of what these units provide, at Entry Level learners will cover 1-5 learning outcomes, including cooking techniques, equipment recognition and safe working practices. They will also explore how certain cooking methods can support healthier eating and will demonstrate how to prepare a dish using different skills.

For more advanced learners, our Level 2 - Cooking with Meat, Fish and Vegetables is the ideal course to master the skills needed for the festive season. Learners will deepen their understanding of cooking methods and preparation techniques. From oven roasting a turkey to grilling salmon or steaming festive vegetables, this unit will have your learners cooking up a storm, ensuring they confidently cook a well-rounded, healthy meal!
