LASER Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders is an essential qualification for people working in, or preparing to work in hospitality or licensed retail, for example in pubs, clubs, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores and off-licences.
Sales of alcohol on licensed premises can only be made by, or authorised by, a Personal Licence Holder. All individuals applying to hold a Personal Licence must have first achieved a Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders. The LASER Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders covers all the legal and social responsibilities of a Personal Licence Holder.

Learners may progress to qualifications for Designated Premises Supervisors and/ or to Food and Drink or Hospitality competency-based qualifications.
How is this qualification assessed?
Assessed by an externally set multiple choice exam marked by LASER.
The exam:
is administered by centre staff under examination conditions
can be delivered online
is comprised of 40 questions
is one hour in duration
has a 70% pass mark
What are the entry requirements?
Learners must be aged 18 or above to achieve this qualification and be able to communicate effectively in English.
How do I deliver this qualification as a centre?
To offer this qualification, you must be an Approved LASER Centre. For further information about gaining approval or working in partnership with an Approved Centre please visit our website. Existing Approved Centres must complete a New Course Notification Form before starting to deliver the qualification.
