Essential qualification for people working in, or preparing to work in licensed retail, for example in pubs, clubs, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores and off-licences. Sales of alcohol on licensed premises can only be made by, or authorised by, a Personal Licence Holder.

Learners must be aged 18 or above to achieve this qualification and be able to communicate effectively in English. Assessments are only provided and can only take place using English.
Assessed by an externally set and externally marked multiple choice exam marked by LASER

- comprised of 40 questions
- one hour in duration
- has a 70% pass mark.
