National Allotment Week (11–17 August 2025) is the perfect time to dig into something new! Whether you’re nurturing green fingers or building a foundation for a career in horticulture, LASER’s funded Level 2 Horticulture Units are a fantastic way to learn practical, sustainable skills that blossom into lifelong benefits.
Explore our Level 2 Horticulture Units (all funded):
These Horticulture Units equip learners with a wide range of practical, hands-on skills vital for working in gardens, allotments, or the wider horticultural industry. From building and maintaining water features to designing ornamental landscapes, learners develop core competencies in both hard and soft landscaping. They gain experience with planning, planting, and maintaining a variety of plant types, including herbs, fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants, using sustainable and environmentally conscious methods.
Through these units, learners also build technical knowledge in areas such as plant propagation, pest and disease management, soil care, crop rotation, and seasonal maintenance. They explore organic horticulture principles, biodiversity, and site planning, while enhancing their understanding of plant selection for different functions and environments. Whether learners aim to grow for personal satisfaction or professional progression, these units provide the essential skills to cultivate healthy, productive green spaces.
Our Horticulture Units are part of LASER’s flexible and widely respected Progression Qualifications, designed to support learners of all ages and levels of experience.
LASER’s Progression qualifications are flexible, accessible, and designed to grow with you. Available at Entry Level 3 to Level 3, these qualifications allow learners to explore personal development, literacy and numeracy skills, and work-related learning in a way that suits their pace and goals.
OurProgression qualifications offer a stepping stone to employment, further training, or personal growth.
