It’s International Coffee Day on the 1st October 2025, so it is the perfect time to highlight LASER’s Barista Units. If you have learners in the hospitality sector these units are ideal for those wishing to develop essential skills and knowledge to work as a Barista!
Offered at Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2, each of the units is worth 2 credits and is 20 Guided Learning Hours (GLH), making them easy to integrate into existing programmes.
The LASER Introduction to Barista Skills units have been developed in collaboration with training centres and reflect real coffee shop operations. Learners will explore:
How to prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages
How to operate and maintain barista equipment (espresso machines, grinders, milk steamer)
How to provide effective customer service in a café or hospitality setting

These units are available to approved LASER centres in both our LEAP and Progression suite of vocational qualifications.
LASER’s LEAP (Learning, Employability and Progression) offers a broad range of personal development and vocational taster units. They have been designed to support a wide variety of learners, with flexibility at its core. LEAP gives centres the freedom to tailor unit combinations that best match individual learner needs.
Our Progression Suite of vocational courses are also designed to meet a range of needs, they develop personal skills, and can be used to accredit work experience in a choice of vocational areas.
