The Adult Skills Fund (ASF) replaced the Adult Education Budget (AEB) and funds the delivery and education and training for learners aged 19+.
Some areas of England have devolved budgets through the Mayoral Combined Authorities (MCA). Devolution allows for local innovation and flexibilities to better meet the skills needs of the region and its residents. Currently there are 10 MCA’s who manage their ASF budget. They are listed below:

In line with the Government’s Plan for Change- further areas are in the process of Devolution and Reorganisation. It is important that you check the situation in your local area.

Tailored learning is flexible, non-qualification-based learning designed to meet the needs of learners, employers, and local communities. The main aim of tailored learning is to help learners move into employment or progress to further learning, supporting the overall objectives of the Adult Skills Fund (ASF). It can also contribute to wider benefits, including:
improving health and wellbeing
building confidence and personal development
helping parents and carers support their children's learning
strengthening local communities
