LASER’s Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events is a qualification for those working or seeking work as a steward at spectator events. The qualification will also meet the needs of those looking to volunteer as a steward at community and other events. Many types of events require stewards. These can include sporting events; live music gigs and festivals; theatre and comedy performances; parades and carnivals; and community events.
This qualification comprises five mandatory units. The recommended number of guided learning hours for the qualification is 36. Learners are required to build a portfolio of evidence and are assessed in terms of meeting the criteria stated in each unit. A learner workbook is available to download for all recognised centres offering this qualification.
