What is this qualification?
LASER ‘Supporting Young People Leaving Care in Post-16 Education’ is a small, Level 3 qualification intended to enhance and recognise the skills and knowledge of the ‘Designated Member of Staff’ in Further and Higher Education Institutions responsible for Care Leavers.
Who is this qualification for?
It is available to practitioners aged 18 years or older.
How is this qualification assessed?
Learners are assessed in terms of whether they have met the assessment criteria specified in the units of assessment, and are required to collate a portfolio of evidence.
How do I deliver this qualification as a centre?
To offer this qualification, you must be an Approved LASER Centre. For further information about gaining approval or working in partnership with an Approved Centre please visit our website. Existing Approved Centres must complete a New Course Notification Form before starting to deliver the qualification.
