Refreshed Forest Schools Qualifications
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new suite of Forest School qualifications. This qualification suite has been developed in collaboration with the Forest School Association (FSA), to meet the needs of the Forest School community. The three qualifications available are:
- The LASER Level 1 Award in Forest School Ethos and Principles which is available to learners aged 14 and above. The qualification is suitable for a wide range of learners including young people, youth workers, teaching assistants, teachers, offender learners, and anyone else with an interest in teaching and learning in the outdoors. It provides an excellent overview of the Forest School’s principles and practice.
- The LASER Level 2 Award for Forest School Assistants is designed for those learners who are aged 18+ and aspire to be an Assistant Forest School Leader and/or are looking to progress to become a Forest School Leader in the future. Learners will gain the skills need to assist in planning, supporting and delivering a Forest School programme.
- The LASER Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders is designed for adult learners who wish to become a Forest School Leader. The qualification involves facilitating learner groups and how to manage a Forest School site as well as the practical skills needed by Forest School Leaders.
